You have to be living under a rock or completely ignorant if you still believe that Major League Baseball has not been tainted by performance enhancing drugs especially human growth hormone.

During the late 90;s and early 2000’s the MLB had a dramatic increase in hits, and home runs which many people started to speculate in performance enhancing drugs. When Jose Conseco came out with his revelations as to how rampant steroids and HGH is in baseball many people scoffed.

Well his claims have been known to be true as many high profile players began getting caught using steroids and HGH. Though the league has tried to clean up the situation many people are wondering what to do with the record books and many of the top home runs hitter have been caught using performance enhancing drugs.

Though the league says it has wiped out HGH and steroids that might not be the case. San Francisco Giants outfielder, Jose Guillen, has been linked once again to performance enhancing drugs during a federal investigation. According to the New York Times, Guillen’s wife signed for a shipment of human growth hormone that was delivered by undercover agents after it was intercepted while en route from the Dominican Republic.

The league reportedly learned of Guillen’s involvement just days before the playoffs began. When playoff rosters were set, the team said Guillen was suffering from a sore neck.

This is not the first time Guillen has been linked to PED’s. In 2007 the San Francisco Chronicle reported that Guillen had purchased over $19 000 worth of HGH and anabolic steroids from 2002 to 2005 from the Palm Beach Rejuvenation Center in Florida.

Major League Baseball has opened its own investigation into the matter, according to the lawyers. Baseball recently became the first major professional sport in the United States to test for H.G.H., but only on the minor league level.

Guillen played in 42 games for the Giants in the final phase of the season and hit .266 with 3 home runs and 15 runs batted in. He is in the final season of a three-year, $36 million contract that he signed when he joined the Royals in 2008.

The steroid and HGH situation in baseball might be cleaning up but it has not been eliminated.

So why are MLB players willing to risk suspension and public humiliation just to use HGH and steroids. Well for starters HGH has been known as the miracle and anti aging drug.

Male Enhancement Pill Extenze the Cause of US Sprinter Suspension

When we talk about suspensions or banned athletes in sprinting we are using talking about performance enhancing drugs like steroids and more recently human growth hormone (HGH). Both steroids and HGH have long been used to increased sports performance.

Performance enhancing drugs like HGH has been known as the anti aging drug and many sports athletes have turned to it because it is hard to detect and it has been called the anti aging drug for its ability to increase muscle mass and sports performance.

However, LaShawn Merritt, a two-time gold medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has been suspended for using banned testosterone prohormones. It is not uncommon to be caught using performance enhancing drugs but in this case it he has gained national attention and is the butt of many jokes.

Merritt won the 400-metre Olympic title in Beijing, upsetting favored rival Jeremy Warriner of the United States in the fifth fastest time in history of 43.75 seconds. Merritt was banned for 21 months from the sport of track and field after testing positive for a banned substance; however, he was embarrassed to admit it was contained in a male enhancement product he bought over the counter.

The subject in question was found to be in a male enhancement pill. Yes Merritt has been suspended for using the male enhancement product Extenze. Merritt was recently notified that the presence of DHEA was the cause of his positive test. DHEA is short for dehydroepiandrosterone, which is a steroids precursor banned by the US Anti-Doping Agency.

Extenze is one of the top male enhancement pills on the market like VigRX Plus and ProSolution pills and has been a natural alternative to Viagra, Calais or Levitra to increase the ability to maintain erection, increase in frequency and quality of orgasms, increase in sex drive and desire and for overall penis enlargement and male enhancement.

Male enhancement pills have been all over the media and Extenze is usually shown in late night infomercials and even has popular spokesman like porn star Ron “The Hedgehog” Jeremy, former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson and NASCAR driver Kevin Conway who is a current spokesman for ExtenZe.

The male enhancement product Extenze was purchased in a convenience store by Merritt resulted in a positive for testosterone prohormones three times between October 2009 and January 2010. He had previously accepted a provisional suspension while USADA was looking at the details of the case.

Merritt will be allowed to compete in the world championships in South Korea, following a ruling by a U.S. Anti-Doping Association arbitration panel that reduced the sanction from a mandatory 24 months and back-dated it to October 2009 when he first claimed to have used the product Extenze.

“To know that I’ve tested positive as a result of a product that I used for personal reasons is extremely difficult to wrap my hands around,” said Merritt, who is banned from competition until July 2011.

“I hope my sponsors, family, friends and the sport itself will forgive me for making such a foolish, immature and egotistical mistake. Any penalty that I may receive for my action will not overshadow the embarrassment and humiliation that I feel inside,” he said in a statement.

“I am deeply sorry and hope that other athletes who take these types of over-the-counter products will be even more cautious and read the fine print, because if it can happen to me, it could happen to you.”

In the meantime Merritt might become the next spokesman for Extenze as he waits out his suspension.
